MASTER CONTROL APP INSTRUCTIONS
The Aqueduct Setup app is a mobile application that allows you to view and modify the settings and behaviour of your Well Water Cooler.
You can install the Aqueduct Setup app on mobile devices that have either the iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod) or Android (mobile phones and tablets) operating systems. Set up takes 5 minutes and once done you have complete control on all your coolers via Bluetooth from your mobile or other devices.
How it works
The Aqueduct Setup mobile app communicates with your Well Water cooler using Bluetooth technology.
When the app is launched, it will automatically begin scanning for nearby Bluetooth-enabled devices, in order to detect the cooler.
Once the app detects your cooler (it does so by your turning the cooler off for 3 seconds, and on again), you instruct the app to connect (via Bluetooth) with your cooler.
You can then use the app to view and modify settings, to calibrate the cooler weighing scales and to order water boxes.
The Aqueduct Setup mobile app allows the user to:
- View the current amount of water in the cooler and send you an alert when below pre-set minimum water level.
- Send you real time notification of any faults.
- Calibrate the cooler’s weighing scales.
- Order water boxes from the Well Water website.
- View and modify the cooler’s energy saving settings:
- Select which days of the week the cooler is to be on.
- Define the duration of time that the cooler is on each day.
- View and modify the cooler’s temperature settings:
- Water cooler target temperature.
- LED display mode.
- Cooling fan speed.
- View and modify the cooler’s general settings:
- Enable / Disable the cooler.
- Enable / Disable error notification on cooler display.

Bluetooth Location Permission Settings
The Aqueduct Setup app uses Bluetooth to communicate with the cooler.
When the app is launched, it will automatically begin scanning for nearby Bluetooth enabled devices, in order to detect the cooler (make sure you have turned the respective cooler that you are trying to pair with off for 3 seconds, and on again).
iOS and Android mobile apps must ask permission to use Bluetooth functions – you must allow this permission.
So, the first time you open the app, after installing it, you will be prompted to grant the app access to your device’s location.
The options provided are:
- Allow While Using App / While using the app: If you select this option, your device will remember your selection, and will not have to prompt you again every time the app is re-opened – Pick this option.
- Allow Once / Only this time: If you select this option, the app will prompt you to grant access every time you open the app.
- Don’t allow: If you select this option, the app will not be able to communicate with your Well Water cooler.
Note: If you select “Don’t allow”, the app will not prompt you to grant access again, not even the next time the app is opened. In this case, you will have to manually set the Bluetooth location permission access setting in your mobile device
You can change your device’s Bluetooth permissions as follows:
- For iOS: Settings > Privacy > Bluetooth > Aqueduct Setup.
- For Android: Settings > Location > App access to location > Aqueduct Setup.
Using the Aqueduct Setup App
Opening the Aqueduct Setup App
Tap the Aqueduct Setup app icon on your phone to open the app.
When the app is launched, it will automatically begin scanning for nearby Bluetooth enabled devices, in order to detect the cooler.
To enable the app to detect the cooler, turn the cooler’s power switch off (for 3 seconds) and then back on.
When the app detects the Well Water device it will display its name on the screen.
To begin using the app with your Well Water cooler, tap on the cooler name (“Well Water”).
The Aqueduct Setup app will then open its System Page, allowing you to view and modify settings, and to navigate other app pages.
Navigating the Well Water app
The user can navigate between any of the three app pages using the navigation buttons at the bottom of the screen.
The three app pages are:
Energy: View and modify the coolers energy saving settings.
Take advantage of the cooler’s energy saving features by programming which days of the week the cooler is in use, and the time of day that it is in use. SLEEP Mode saves energy and money and does our bit for the planet!
Weight: Calibrate the cooler’s weighing scales and view the cooler’s estimated water content.
Calibrating the weighing scales enables the cooler to automatically estimate and display the current amount of water. It informs you when the water level has reached pre-set reorder limits and this page also provides a link to the Well Water website, for ordering more water.
System: View and modify the cooler’s settings.
Access the cooler’s general settings, including the cooler’s display mode and the cooling fan speed/noise control setting. For example, if ultra-quiet is required in Board room the fan speed can be turned right down.
When the app is launched, it will initially open on the System page.
Note: When you are finished using the app, either close the app or select the DISCONNECT option (available at the bottom of each page), to end the Bluetooth communications between your device and the cooler.
App Page: System
Allows the user to view and modify the cooler’s settings.
General Settings | Enable the Cooler
Use this slider switch to Enable / Disable the cooler.
When the switch is to the right (on/green), the cooler is Enabled:
When the switch is to the left (off), the cooler is Disabled. The cooler will not control the water temperature, and the LED display will be off:
General Settings | Cooler error indication

The water boxes image displays the cooler’s estimate of its water content (number of water boxes).
To order more Well Water boxes, select the ORDER WATER button.
Your device’s web browser will then bring you to the Well Water e-commerce website: www.thewellwater.com/shop
Calibrating the Cooler
In order for the cooler to estimate the amount of boxed water it contains at any time, the cooler’s weigh scales must first be calibrated. Calibrating the scales is a two-step process.
- First, zero the scales (with all water boxes removed), so that the cooler can record its digital weight reading for zero boxes of water – see Step 1 below.
- Then calibrate (with one water box), so that the cooler can record its record weight reading with one box of water – see Step 2 below.
Once the cooler’s weighing scales are calibrated, you may place further water boxes in the cooler.
Step 1: Zero
To zero the cooler weighing scales, first, remove all water boxes from the inside the cooler, so that there is no weight on the cooler’s scales.
Then select the ZERO button.
The cooler’s weighing scales will then be zeroed, by recording its digital weight reading for zero boxes of water.
Step 2: Calibrate
To calibrate the weighing scales, place one water box on the weighing scales.
Then select the CALIBRATE button.
The cooler’s weighing scales will then be calibrated, by recording its digital weight reading for one box of water.
